KABRAS ECONOMY

Subsistence agriculture:

The economy of Kabras is largely subsistence. Villagers till the land to produce maize and beans largely for domestic consumption and any surplus is traded at the market centres of Lubao.

Trade in timber and wood products is also thriving although this is under threat as logging in the neighbouring Kakakega Forest has been outlawed.
